TIME TO ATTACK
DUAL THEME: In 2024 I was the lead planner, designer and storyteller for a sales kick-off event taking place in Salt Lake City, UT. The Chief Sales Officer choose “Time to Attack” as the theme for the conference but added a last-minute twist, I also needed to find a way to incorporate an element of inspiration from the annual Sundance Film Festival which was kicking-off around the same time as the conference - just up the road in Park City. With these themes in mind, I went to work creating a series of short, high energy stories using imagery from extreme sports and complimenting them with a logo and titles traditionally seen at a film festival. The client was thrilled with the final results and loved how all of the elements came together so cleanly in the end.
SPEAKER INTRODUCTORY VIDEOS
For each speaker I crafted a custom introductory video featuring imagery inspired by both extreme sports and the name of their presentation. This was by far my favorite part of the project. I love being handed a concept and the freedom to interpret the idea how I see fit to bring it to life. Add to it that my inspiration for this project was based on “extreme sports” and I was one happy film maker! And I feel the final product shows that. All of these short films are a lot of fun to watch and the music choices were perfectly paired to the visuals.
ORIGINAL CONCEPT FILM
CONCEPT FILMS: In the conceptual phase of a project, I traditionally present three different ideas to my clients so that they can see a range of options. What’s funny is that the original “Time to Attack” concept was really just a 4th idea, a throw away, that I came up with at the last-minute after watching a David Attenborough film the night before. I found some cool stock footage from a safari and matched it with what turned out to be the perfect song, and tagline because as soon as the client watched the concept film, he immediately stopped the meeting and said “That’s it! Time to Attack is exactly what I want.”
