OFFICE SPACE

Since 2009 I have had the luxury of working from the comfort of my own home.  Over the years my space has grown exponentially, starting with a 18 sq ft broom closet and culminating with my most recent space, a custom sound studio in a 100 sq ft corner of my garage.  It took three months to complete and features a façade made entirely of reclaimed wood taken from abandoned barns and fences around my home in Central Oregon.  My objective was to create a space that fills you with a rush of creativity when you enter, while also allowing you to disconnect from the world for awhile and just create art.

MURAL CONSTRUCTION

The most awe inspiring piece in the space is without the gigantic 10' tall psychedelic mural that adorns the back wall.  It took 3 full days to cut, paint and install.  To start, I painted each of the (3) 4'x8' sheets of hardboard a different shade of blue before using a circular saw to rip each sheet into into (12) 4" x 8' strips.  Each blue strip was then alternated as they were laid out onto the floor to create a varying pattern.  White paint was then filled into a custom paint can that hung from a string in the center of the garage.  This pendulum string dripped paint dripped paint as it spun, creating the mesmerizing circular splatter pattern that now adorns the wall.  Once it dried, the mural was transferred, piece-by-piece, to the office where it was mounted to the wall using adhesive and a heavy dose of finishing nails.
