POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS
CUSTOM ANIMATION: Combining video and custom transitions creates a unique way to experience a traditional PowerPoint presentation. I am a huge proponent of mixed media and always urge my clients to add embedded videos to their presentations to give the viewer something different to experience.
CUSTOM GAME SHOW: This was one of my favorite PowerPoint designs ever! The client gave me carte blanche to design whatever I wanted, so I created a show that integrated videos, custom graphic design, and an interactive section allowing audience members to choose cards that revealed characters, that would in-turn be used to create a “costume mash-up.” To date, this is still one of my all-time favorite events.
VIDEO SUPPORT: In addition to a kick-off video to explain the rules, each event I produce receives a PowerPoint deck to support the nuances of the event that were not covered in the video. This is an example of a presentation used for a scavenger hunt in Boston.
SHOWING OFF: When your dad is the Director of Fun, it’s safe to say that your birthday parties are going to look a bit different from the average kid's. For my son’s recent end-of-year Water Polo team banquet, I had the chance to host a game show and give the players and parents an opportunity to enjoy a unique team bonding experience.
WHITE ELEPHANT: I was hired to host a 70-person White Elephant Gift Exchange party, and the client needed the event completed in 75 minutes or less. I used the basic rules and added a few extra twists, along with a 60-second clock to time each round. In the end, we were able to complete the event in under 55 minutes.
CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS: When you ask people to write, script, direct, and act in their own movie—and only give them 90 minutes to do it—you better be clear with your instructions. That’s why I create a completely custom PowerPoint for every experience, so I can walk the audience through every step of the process with rich visuals.
AWARDS PRESENTATIONS
CUSTOM TITLE SAMPLES: Having your name appear at an awards ceremony is an honor, and it is my job as the graphic designer to ensure that the moment feels as special as possible. Selecting the right font is imperative, which is why I always create several samples for the client to choose from, ensuring they find the one that best fits the occasion.
VARIETY: I love adding different looks to presentations to ensure the viewer is seeing something different each time a category or idea changes. Whenever possible, I also work to create personalized imagery and custom slides to bring it all together.
IMPACTFUL IMAGERY: I try and live by the design philosophy of perfection is reached not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to take away. Using great imagery allows you to tell a story without having to add any text to the slide so that you can drive home your message.
